Guidance on Credentials
It is important to note that the DCRO Institute does not offer certifications. Rather, successful graduates of The Board Members' Course on Risk® are awarded the Certificate in Risk Governance®. Those who complete the Certificate in Cyber Risk Governance® requirements are awarded the Certificate in Cyber Risk Governance®. Those who complete our “Mastering” courses receive Strategic Specialization Certificates for each program. It is a small but important distinction.
Those who attain the Certificate in Risk Governance® can earn up to 15 points toward receiving permission to use the Qualified Risk Director® designation. Those who earn the Certificate in Cyber Risk Governance® are awarded up to 10 points toward receiving permission to use the Qualified Risk Director® designation. Completion of other courses from the DCRO Institute can add an additional five (5) points. To obtain permission to use the Qualified Risk Director® designation, you must fulfill the requirements of that program, which generally requires a total of at least 80 points and minimum scores across each of the four areas of evaluation (25/30, 25/30, 15/20, and 15/20).
Details on eligibility criteria for the Qualified Risk Expert™ designation are found here.
